There are numerous benefits of lemons that have been known for quite a long time. Lemons contain vitamin C, magnesium, calcium, citric acid, bioflavonoids, pectin, and limonene--that promote immunity and fight infection.

What are some health benefits of drinking lemon water?

Balances to maintain the pH levels in the body. Lemon juice is high in vitamin C, a strong antioxidant that helps keep the immune system strong, and prevents and fights disease.

It helps replenish all the body salts that were lost after a strenuous workout session. Proper nutrition before, during and after your workouts proves important for success.

Having it in the morning helps flush out toxins from the body. The best if you drink the juice warm that will aid your digestive system.

Potassium content in lemon helps nourish brain and nerve cells, controls the electrical activity of the heart, builds protein and muscle, maintains normal body growth.

Great benefit to the skin and it prevents the formation of wrinkles and acne. Lemon water which is taken daily may act as an anti-aging remedy and may remove wrinkles and blackheads.

It has a significant role in promoting collagen production inside our body and the collagen production helps improving skin cell growth, which is important in removing dead skin cells that may cause acne.

Lemons' immune-boosting powers and the use as a weight reduction aid. Do not forget that no single food or beverage will bring about a significant amount of weight loss on its own. Can be useful for increasing weight loss results as part of a healthy a reduced-calorie diet and regular exercise.

Vitamin C reduces stress.

It is suggested that you start your day with a glass of warm lemon water and you will have positive effects on in the long run.

Lemon water is acidic because of the lemon (if you put lots of lemon juice in it), so might be helpful if you drink it out of a straw, instead of directly drinking from the glass.

Why is it important? The acid from lemon water does not have any contact with your teeth, as prolonged contact with acidic substances in lemon may cause damage to your teeth enamel so the best if you rinse your mouth thoroughly after drinking your glass of lemon juice.

How to make lemon water?

- Slice a lemon in half.

- Squeeze the juice of the half lemon into a glass of water.

- Voilá!

I do not add any sweetener (no Stevia and not even Honey). I like sometimes put some mint leaves in it. Love the taste of the lemon and mint together.

By the way lemon peels contain as much as 5 to 10 times more vitamins than the juice of the lemon!

Is it all true about lemon water?

Well, there is not enough scientific support in stimulating your organs or balancing the pH in the body, as many times we believe.

Is it another placebo effect? Might be, but my recommendation to you, if you experience positive benefits after drinking lemon water, then keep on doing it. Every Body reacts different way to the same thing.

In spite of all the current hype surrounding lemon water, true or false, there are plenty of reasons why it’s a good habit to incorporate into your life. I like adding lemon juice or slices to my water, because it is much more enjoyable.

What we know for sure, that it will hydrate your body and will be a healthy substitute for juice.
